Yesterday, Christina attended the launch of the “Stand Up To Cancer” campaign. Health Central has information about the event.
Celebrities from both the entertainment industry and Major League Baseball gathered Wednesday in Los Angeles to launch a nationwide initiative that will fund the brightest researchers to complete both basic and advanced cancer research.
Dennis Quaid, Melissa Etheridge, David and Rosanna Arquette, Christina Ricci, Elizabeth Berkley, Jimmy Smits, Goran Visnjic and other stars mingled in the lobby of the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills, looking at the demonstrations of the Stand Up to Cancer Web site and munching on breakfast before the press conference.
The initiative’s purpose is to raise funds to accelerate cancer research, and all three major television networks have agreed to donate a simultaneous hour of commercial-free primetime programming for a special at 8 p.m. on Sept. 5. Earlier in the day, anchors from all three networks — ABC, CBS and NBC — announced the initiative together during live appearances on each network’s morning show.
The campaigns official website is located at StandUp2Cancer.org, there you can learn more about the campaign, donate to the cause and get information on the upcoming show. You can view the photos (both MQ and HQ) by clicking on the thumbnails below.

I just wanted to post that this month (May) marks the 5 year anniversary of Confessions of Christina Ricci. Thanks to everyone who has visited, supported, donated, contributed, and stuck around with us over the years!
Here’s the complete history of COCR to date…
The original site was started by Riikka on the domain christina-ricci.ws… It then moved to c-ricci.com when Riikka gave up the site to Roberta and Amelie. Soon after the site move, Amelie contacted me, Jennifer to help with the site (end of ‘04). In early 2005, Mel joined us. By the end of ‘05, I was left to work on COCR on my own. In early 2006, when c-ricci.com came to expire, christinaricci.ws was purchased and became the permanent home of COCR. Our lovely host, Gertie was able to grab up c-ricci.com and it still redirects here to this day.
Again, thanks to everyone who visits and let’s hope for another great 5 years online!
Developed by Etranges Libellules, the game will be released this fall for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system, PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system, Wii home video game system, PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system and Nintendo DS. Reprising their roles as the characters of Spyro and his mentor Ignitus, are two popular Hollywood leading men, Elijah Wood (Frodo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings trilogy) and Gary Oldman (Sirius Black from the Harry Potter films). Joining the Spyro roster this year are Christina Ricci, Blair Underwood, Mark Hamill and Wayne Brady, rounding out an all-star voice cast.
In the final chapter of the trilogy, players find Sypro teaming up with an unlikely ally — Cynder, his former enemy, to face his most challenging mission to date. As the Dark Master’s (voiced by Mark Hamill) evil envelopes the world like a plague, Spyro must fulfill his destiny and unlock the true power of the purple dragon within him to stop the Dark Master in his tracks.
The game introduces two never before seen elements into the Spyro universe: Spyro can now fly at any time and players can drop-in/drop-out with the new cooperative feature. The co-op feature allows players to have the option of completing the game as either Spyro or Cynder, giving them more freedom to explore Spyro’s world in completely new ways.
